Principals

Brenda Dolan

Brenda S. Dolan, President. Ms. Dolan has been involved in the real estate industry since 1982. Starting as a sales agent, and later obtaining her broker’s license, she became an investor early in her career. With over 35 years of rental management experience, today she manages over 300 units, including those she owns with her husband through various investment entities, and those owned by a Family Trust.

Ms. Dolan started in the development end of the business in 2002 with the purchase of the Courthouse Commons Apartments project in Warsaw, Virginia, a Virginia Housing Development Authority financed project. Since that time, in partnership with VHDA, she has managed the rehab, construction and delivery of five successful projects, culminating with the 2007 formation of Dolan Construction LLC and the turn-key delivery of The Falls III VHDA project under budget.

Tim Dolan

Timothy J. Dolan, CEO. Mr. Dolan has been a member of the Virginia State Bar since 1979. In private practice for 10 years following his graduation from law school, Mr. Dolan represented various Richmond area developers and builders.

Later employed as in-house counsel to a multi-national manufacturing company, Mr. Dolan had legal responsibility for a broad range of corporate matters, including real estate issues for his employer. He acts as counsel to Dolan Properties, and the various investment vehicles of the principals.

Dolan Properties has partnered with Virginia Housing Development Authority nearly since its inception. Acquiring its first multi-family property, Courthouse Commons Apartments in Warsaw, Virginia, in 2002, Dolan Properties understood that its mission was aligned with VHDA to assure low and moderate income Virginians have quality affordable housing, in a safe, secure, peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Even though Dolan Properties has expanded significantly since 2002, its mission remains the same.
